Find your Schedule
I Can’t Find the Drop-In Fitness Schedule!
I don’t want to know about all the Aquatic Schedule times, just tell me when Lane Swimming is!
Okay great but what happened to the Gym Schedule?
This is helpful, but I'm still having trouble finding what I'm looking for!

Find your Schedule

It's been one month since we launched our new mobile-friendly northernalberta.ymca.ca website.  You may have noticed that with the new site there are a few changes to how you find schedule information.  As with any web change, there will always be a bit of getting used to a new system.  But don’t panic, we’re here to help you find the schedules you’re looking for and we think you’ll come to love northernalberta.ymca.ca’s dynamically-generated schedules!

There are a couple of places to find schedule information on the new site.  The quickest and easiest way is through the schedules section.  You can access your specific location by hovering over Schedules on the main navigation bar at the top of the page.  If you’re on a mobile device, click on the red navigation button on the top right hand side of the screen (see image below).

I Can’t Find the Drop-In Fitness Schedule!

The PDF Drop-In Fitness Schedule is now called the Programs and Classes Schedule.  You can access it through the main schedules page.  Click on the link for your membership centre and you’ll be taken to a page that has all of the schedule information laid out in a weekly view.  Adult Drop-In Programs is the first section at the top of this grid.  You can scroll down to see the Adult Registered Programs, Preschool Programs, Child Programs and Youth Programs on the same page.

Want to print off the Adult Drop-In Programs schedule on its own?  Select Adult Drop-In Programs from the second dropdown menu on the top left, wait for the page to load and then click the download icon on the top right.

I don’t want to know about all the Aquatic Schedule times, just tell me when Lane Swimming is!

No problem!  You can also access schedule information about a specific program (in this case, lane swimming) through the Find a Program search.  Hover over Programs on the main red site bar main site navigation and click on Find a Program.  From the dropdown menus in the Find a Program box select Health, Fitness & Aquatics.  Use the Sub Category drop down to select Aquatics.  You can use the second Sub Category dropdown to further refine your search – let’s choose Aquatic Fitness.

You can even narrow down your search by centre, age group and more on the left hand side.

Next, click Find a Program.  You’ll be taken to a page where you can see all the options for programs under Aquatic Fitness, organized alphabetically.  To the right of Lane Swim, you can then click the Show Schedules button to see all the times and locations where lane swimming is offered.

This process can be applied to any program you’re interested in!  If a program doesn’t have a Show Schedules button, it’s not currently scheduled at any of our facilities.  However, you can still click on the program name to learn more about the program and when it may be offered.

Okay, great but what happened to the Gym Schedule?

Good question!  You can access the Health & Fitness schedule in the same way as the Aquatics schedule: through the main schedules page, selecting your location and either scrolling down to find the Health & Fitness section or selecting it from the second drop down on the top left.  The weekly grid view includes location information about where each fitness program is offered (such as the gym or studio).  If you are looking for Open Gym times or other drop-in gym activities, you can find that through the Program page by selecting Health & Fitness and Sports & Recreation in the Find a Program drop downs.

This is helpful, but I'm still having trouble finding what I'm looking for!

No problem.  If you need some more help navigating the website please call your local YMCA or ask someone at the membership services desk.  If you'd like to provide feedback on your experience using the site please email web@northernalberta.ymca.ca.  We love hearing from you!  Your feedback is vital as we continue to refine our new website and make it into the most useful tool possible.
