Each camper must have a completely filled-in Medical Form (PDF).
YMCA of Northern Alberta is fully committed to safeguard the welfare of all children in its care. To help ensure that all children are kept safe at the YMCA, we will be asking for Photo ID to be shown for Day Camp Pick Up by the parent/guardian/identified pick up person on the medical form and sign in sheet. This mandatory for all YMCA Camps.
Campers’ belongings should be labelled. The YMCA will not be responsible for any lost or stolen items.
YMCA Summer Day Camps are outdoor-based programs, so every camper must bring clothing suitable for all types of weather. Sunscreen, a hat, and a water bottle are also necessary. Campers must understand the importance of sunscreen and know how to apply it before coming to camp. Due to the nature of sunscreen allergies, YMCA staff will not provide or apply sunscreen.

CAMP RECREATIONAL SWIM
For the safety of all campers during recreational swim, campers 3-7 years will be required to wear a lifejacket.
LUNCH AND SNACKS
Campers are required to bring a nutritious and allergen-aware lunch, two snacks, and plenty of cool drinks. Lunch and snacks can also be purchased by parents before camp at the food service kiosks.
Microwaves will not be available to heat up food items. Day Camp lunch service options available at the Castle Downs, Jamie Platz and William Lutsky Family YMCAs through Moo’s Healthy Food Service Kiosks (contact them at firstname.lastname@example.org).

EDMONTON TRANSITION TIMES
Transition times are from 8:30 to 8:45AM and 4:15 to 4:30PM daily. During this time staff will be moving from the pre- care or to the post-care locations. For the safety of your children we discourage dropping off or picking up your children during transition times and you should expect delays during this time.
CAMP SATISFACTION SURVEYS
We will be conducting a Camp Feedback Survey to help us improve on our program quality. Please let us know how we are doing. Camp staff will provide you with the survey and online link.
Camp staff are carefully selected for their leadership skills, enthusiasm and their ability to work with children of all backgrounds and abilities. All staff members have completed the YMCA Day Camp Training Program, which includes safety and emergency training, standard first aid, CPR, WHMIS, behavior management, physical literacy (NCCP FMS) and YMCA Healthy Child Development. Camp staff are also required to pass a Police Security Clearance and Vulnerable Sector Search.
