      This program is designed for teens who want to improve their swimming abilities and lifesaving skills. Participants have the option of completing the YMCA Learn to Swim program.

      Participants are challenged to work on front and back floats and glides. Children will also discover the use of buoyant aids.

      Our instructors will help your child build confidence in breath control, floating, and gliding. If your child has completed Dippers in the Preschool program, please speak with any aquatic staff to be placed in the appropriate level.

      Your child will be introduced to deep water jumping, surface support, continuing with breath control, floats and glides.

      Your child will learn boating safety, rescue skills, and the butterfly stroke. Improving sidestroke and breaststroke is a focus, while continuing to build endurance and stroke standards.

      Our instructors will expose your child to drowning prevention education, additional rescue skills, and sidestroke. Building on both endurance and stroke standards will continue to happen in this level.

      Dippers:
      Participants will refine their front and back swims, explore deep water activities, and spend the majority of the time in the main pool.
