This course is designed for persons with cognitive or physical disabilities, ages 3-16. Enjoy group activities and games, with focus on individual challenges and progress to create fun, safe and social environments in the water. Each registrant requires an adult to participate with them in the water at all times.
Preschool children will participate in activities to gain confidence and to increase their level of comfort in the water. The focus is on getting their face wet, blowing bubbles, and beginning to work on assisted floats.
Participants are challenged to work on front and back floats and glides. Children will also discover the use of buoyant aids.
Children are introduced to deep-water activities, gliding on their front and back, and working towards a front swim of up to 5 meters.
Participants are encouraged to develop deep water skills and spend time in the main pool. Instructors work with children to develop arm action and toward a front swim of up to 10 meters.
