Leslie and Sean are incredible parents who regularly foster as many as four medically fragile children, each of whom require special care and counselling. They know the positive impact attending summer day camp has on their children, but when Leslie had to quit her job to care for her children’s needs full-time, camp fees became a barrier. Read more about this special family and how the YMCA Opportunity Fund helps them find a place to grow, be together, and belong.

YMCA of Northern Alberta sincerely appreciates the ongoing support we receive from our many community partners. This generous support makes a difference in the lives of hundreds of individuals and families who access programs that address several key needs in the community including education, child care, housing and physical health and well-being.

Summer should be the happiest time in a child’s life. When school doors close in June the Y opens its doors wider. Summer day camps provide children with positive, life-changing experiences that allow them to thrive.
For some children, an enriching summer experience is not always a reality.
You can ensure that no one is turned away because of their inability to pay. A donation of $120 will help subsidize the fees for one child in need.

Donate here or visit or your local YMCA today to ask how you can give a deserving child a life-changing YMCA summer day camp experience.
