Employment Readiness with BTG

 

Bridging the Gap (BTG) is a 20-week employment readiness program that enhances the skills and confidence of young job-seeking Albertans between 15–30 years old. Through a combination of practical training and a 12-week work placement, participants are equipped with the skills necessary to find sustainable employment.

Bridging the Gap is proudly offered in Grande Prairie, Wood Buffalo and Red Deer.

Here's why you should participate in BTG:

  1. Gain training on what it takes to be a contributing employee
  2. Understand the expectations of employers in the workplace and be ready to meet those expectations
  3. Get support for 12 weeks
  4. Earn certifications and training in CSO, First Aid & CPR, WHMIS, H2S Alive, Confined Spaces, ProServe, ProTect, Sell Safe, Fall Protection and more!
  5. Learn important skills such as workplace communication, computer literacy, customer relations and personal development

  • be between 15–30 years old
  • be eligible to work in Canada
  • be a Canadian citizen, permanent residence or refugee

When you partner with YMCA Bridging the Gap, you provide an opportunity for young people to learn more about the workforce. Additionally, employer partners received support and a wage subsidy reimbursement of up to $7,200 (50% of participant wages) for 12 weeks.
