Opportunity fund helping people with financial assistance

Our Programs are now open for member registration.

Inclusion and equality are values that YMCA of Northern Alberta are founded. Because of the generous support of YMCA donors and sponsors, no one is turned away from accessing YMCA programs and services because of the inability to pay full fees. Financial assistance is available to individuals and families. Visit any YMCA location and ask for more information.

How is eligibility for financial assistance determined?

Option 1:

Applicants for Financial Assistance are pre-approved if a verified recipient of:
  • IS: Income Support
  • AISH: Assured Income for the Severely Handicapped
  • ACHB: Alberta Child Health Benefits (letter with expiry date required)
  • AAHB: Alberta Adult Health Benefits (letter with expiry date required)

Option 2:

Eligibility for financial assistance is determined by household income and family size (if applicable). The YMCA uses the government's Low Income Cut-Off Chart (LICO) as a guideline to help determine eligibility. You may also be eligible to apply if you have unique or special circumstances and/or are unable to provide proof of income. If this is your situation:
  1. Stop in to learn about what the YMCA has to offer and receive a financial assistance application form.
  2. Complete an application form and gather the necessary information.
  3. Bring your completed application and information to the YMCA.
