How is eligibility for financial assistance determined?

Option 1:

Applicants for Financial Assistance are pre-approved if a verified recipient of:
  • IS: Income Support
  • AISH: Assured Income for the Severely Handicapped
  • ACHB: Alberta Child Health Benefits (letter with expiry date required)
  • AAHB: Alberta Adult Health Benefits (letter with expiry date required)

Option 2:

Eligibility for financial assistance is determined by household income and family size (if applicable). The YMCA uses the government's Low Income Cut-Off Chart (LICO) as a guideline to help determine eligibility. You may also be eligible to apply if you have unique or special circumstances and/or are unable to provide proof of income. If this is your situation:
  1. Stop in to learn about what the YMCA has to offer and receive a financial assistance application form.
  2. Complete an application form and gather the necessary information.
  3. Bring your completed application and information to the YMCA.
