SKY High is a two-week long summer YTP program, aimed at fostering resiliency, leadership and community connection in Edmonton. SKY High takes place Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 3:30pm with an overnight camping trip on the last three days.
During SKY High, youth will participate in workshops exploring topics such as: healthy relationships, healthy lifestyle, self-esteem, social media awareness, employment and educational goals, communication, and team work. Life skill topics are paired with engaging recreation and outdoor pursuit activities which may include hiking, paddle boarding, swimming, orienteering, rope courses, canoeing and camping.
This workshop is geared towards youth between 13–19 years of age, who would like to strengthen their existing skill set while meeting new people in a supportive environment. Due to the limited number of spots within SKY High, all youth interested in SKY High are required to complete and submit a SKY High application package with a general information form, nomination form and behaviour agreement. Application packages are reviewed and successful particpants are notified
Like all YTP programs and workshops, Urban Life Skills uses a multi-media approach to facilitation, using varied and interactive methods to ensure every learner achieves a full grasp of the material.
