March 1: YMCA Responds to Updated Provincial Restrictions

March 1, 2021

To our YMCA community,

Just moments ago, the Government of Alberta announced the lifting of some COVID-19 restrictions relating to indoor individual and group fitness activities.

While we are eager to welcome our YMCA community back to your favourite health, fitness and aquatic programs, we do not yet have an update on the reopening of YMCA fitness services and programs.

We are currently reviewing today's changes to public health measures and will determine if and/or when YMCA services will reopen in adherence with public health guidelines.

YMCA of Northern Alberta hopes to provide additional communication related to facility reopening in the coming days.

At this time, health and fitness services will continue to be closed at the following locations:

Red Deer Region

Edmonton Region

Wood Buffalo Region

Please note that community programs and services, as well as YMCA Child Care, continue to be open at locations where those services are currently offered.

For the time being, all YMCA health, fitness and aquatic programs and services and YMCA Community Centres remain closed until further notice and all memberships remain on hold with no action required.

Your YMCA is committed to offering health, fitness and aquatic programs and services and opening YMCA Community Centres as quickly as the Government of Alberta deems it is safe to do so. For more information on the YMCA's response to COVID-19, visit northernalberta.ymca.ca/COVID-19.

Thank you for your continued patience and support. You truly make the YMCA a community.

Stay safe and well,

Your YMCA of Northern Alberta family
