YMCA Responds to Public Health Measures Announced on April 6

April 6, 2021

Dear valued YMCA members,

To manage and curb the increase of COVID-19 cases and the increasing impact of variants, the Government of Alberta announced just moments ago the mandatory return to Stage 1 restrictions province-wide.

YMCA Health and Wellness Centres

Our YMCA team is happy to share that our YMCA Health and Wellness Centres will remain open to serve community members:

Changes in Health and Wellness Services

However, please note that the following services will not be available effective midnight tonight as a result of the mandatory restrictions:

  • No group fitness classes until further notice.

  • No fitness centre bookings until further notice (Edmonton only).

In our Edmonton centres, many of the programs and services members had been enjoying can continue, such as supervised lane swim and aqua jog, family bookings of the pool and gymnasium, private swim lessons and personal training.

At the Northside Community Centre in Red Deer, we're excited to share children's programming will continue.
