At YMCA of Northern Alberta, we believe that strong kids and healthy families build thriving communities. We offer a variety of programs to help families grow strong and grow together. YMCA Child and family development programs are available in the Edmonton, Grande Prairie and Wood Buffalo regions.

Child and Family Development Programs

  • Positive Discipline

    Positive Discipline is an eight-week workshop available in the Edmonton region that provides a positive foundation for parents that can be applied in a wide range of situations, not just those that occur during challenging times.

  • YMCA Family Connect: Family Supports

    Family Supports is an early intervention program that provides support to families with children aged 7 to 18 in the Grande Prairie region and North Central Edmonton. Parents are supported to create a nurturing and safe family environment, build resiliency within themselves and their children, build new social connections and learn about positive parenting and child development.

  • YMCA Family Connect: Home Visitation

    Home Visitation provides support for families with children aged 0-6 yrs (including prenatal), in the Wood Buffalo and Grande Prairie regions, and North Central Edmonton. Supports include early intervention, strengthens family connections, coaching and supports for parents, families and caregivers. Support provided virtually and in-home.

  • Y-Digital Literacy

    Y-Digital Literacy aims to empower children, youth, families and seniors to learn digital skills that can positively impact their work, education and personal lives. This program is available across Central and Northern Alberta.
