Counsellors in Training (CIT)

Banner & Copy

Counsellors in Training (CIT) program is an introductory leadership opportunity for youth 13–15 years of age that helps teens learn new skills and gain independence as they learn how to become a camp counsellor.

What to expect

Participants start gaining valuable experience at the very beginning of this program through the interview process and camp training, in addition to their hands-on learning in camp.

This summer, participants will take part in a two-week experience where they spend half their day improving their confidence, learning communication skills and having fun through a variety of leadership activities, and practicing those skills in YMCA Camps the other half of their day.
