At YMCA of Northern Alberta, we believe that strong kids and healthy families build thriving communities. We offer a variety of programs to help families grow strong and grow together. YMCA Child and family development programs are available in the Edmonton Capital Region, Grande Prairie Region and Wood Buffalo (programs vary by region).
Family Ties is an early intervention program that provides support to familes with with children aged seven to 17. Parents are supported to create a nurturing and safe family environment, build resiliency within themselves and their children, build new social connections, and learn about positive parenting and child development.
The early years of a child’s life is a critical developmental period. Home visitation is an intervention program that helps soon-to-be or new parents create a foundation for future success.
Positive Discipline is an eight week workshop that provides a positive foundation for parents that can be applied in a wide range of situations, not just those that occur during challenging times.
