Red Deer Summer Day Camps

Give your child the chance to get active, learn new skills and forge friendships to last a lifetime at YMCA summer day camps at the Northside Community Centre

Registration opens on June 17 for our full-day camps, running July 6 to August 28, for kids ages 6–12 years. Camps will not run on August 3 in recognition of Heritage Day. Campers will explore their creative side through arts and crafts, and develop fundamental movement skills by playing sports and participating in fun activities and games!

To keep our campers and staff safe and healthy this summer, these camps will have a smaller capacity with limited spots available. The YMCA will meet or exceed all provincial health guidelines and requirements, which include keeping each camp to its designated area with its own entrance to the building, enhanced cleaning, hand washing and social distancing. Parents and/or guardians will be given all the information they need to feel comfortable and safe before their child's first day of camp.

Edmonton and Wood Buffalo Summer Day Camps

After carefully reviewing the province's requirements for operating day camps and considering all of our options, as of May 26 all Edmonton and Wood Buffalo region summer day camps are cancelled.

We know how important a day camp experience is to a child, and it's our passion to offer a welcoming space with exciting programs and positive role models where kids can learn, grow and be active. That's why this decision was so difficult to make, and why we share the disappointment of our day camp families.

We have contacted those whose children are registered in summer day camps via email to make this announcement and discuss refund options.
